The Sons of Confederate Veterans, SCV, is the direct heir of the United Confederate Veterans, and the oldest hereditary organization for male descendants of Confederate soldiers. Organized at Richmond, Virginia in 1896, the SCV continues to serve as a historical, patriotic, and non-political organization dedicated to ensuring that a true history of the 1861-1865 period is preserved.

Membership in the Sons of Confederate Veterans is open to all male descendants of any veteran who served honorably in the Confederate armed forces.

pelham chapelFounded in 1884, Robert E. Lee Camp #1 waCSA seals created to fund and support a home for indigent Confederate veterans.  Through their efforts, “The Old Soldiers Home” on Boulevard Avenue in Richmond, VA was founded.  Shortly thereafter, in 1887, Pelham Chapel on the grounds was dedicated as a Virginia Memorial to the men who answered her call.

Today the Lee-Jackson Camp #1 is still maintaining Pelham Chapel, as well as telling the story of how it came to be, and the men whose legacy it remembers. Click here for a brochure.
