Founded in 1884, Robert E. Lee Camp #1 wa s created to fund and support a home for indigent Confederate veterans. Through their efforts, “The Old Soldiers Home” on Boulevard Avenue in Richmond, VA was founded. Shortly thereafter, in 1887, Pelham Chapel on the grounds was dedicated as a Virginia Memorial to the men who answered her call.
Today the Lee-Jackson Camp #1 is still maintaining Pelham Chapel, as well as telling the story of how it came to be, and the men whose legacy it remembers. Click here for a brochure.
